Hear the fear - all they have left is abuse
By golly, Plato has never been called names before by an elected Member of Parliament - or even several.
Still there's a first time for everything - and really she ought to feel privileged that such ad hominem attacks have come from those holding the high offices of Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Environment.
So, what exactly has she and her ilk been called *so far*
"Flat-Earther" [a bit like a Creationist you mean?]
"Anti-science" [ more of a Scientologist then?]
"Climate-saboteur" [ah, a cute fox killer and baby seal clubber]
"Dangerous and deceitful" [what like some escaped criminal fraudster?]
and lest not forget that she's also been compared to a Holocaust denier too.
Well, that's nice isn't it?
And on Newsnight, one of the UEA scientists called another guest an 'arsehole' live on air after spending the entire piece complaining about personal attacks on his data-cooking chums.
Oh and lest not forget Mr Bob Ward - the one man PR machine who compared Plato to a member of the BNP because Nick Griffin isn't too sold on AGW either.
When anyone stoops to name calling, as my mum said - they've lost the argument. Shame that Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband appear to have missed that one.
As a well known Indian chappy once said, "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
I do hope so.

If AGW is so obvious, why did a world-renowned professor have to fiddle the data to demonstrate it?
ReplyDeletePlato, like you, I have never been abused so much by people in public office as I have been the last couple of days. Jesus.... and they want us to vote for them?
ReplyDeleteSuperb post.
ReplyDeleteI've not run with this story as there are others, like your good self, who are so much more capable.
ReplyDeleteHowever,as you say, when they stoop to name calling then you know you're on a roll.
Keep going Plato, said Cato.
Er .. Plato I have a few names for you myself
ReplyDeleteHow about - 'refreshingly honest'; then there's :
logical
realistic
truth-sayer
erudite
articulate and
honest
I believe in balance!
