Unless you are a sad Google watcher such as Plato, you probably won't have tripped across this article:
"...The failure of the University of East Anglia to respond substantially to the avalanche of invective from climate skeptics has been a PR disaster that undermined the reputation of science as well as the institution itself. One angry media insider says: “Their response will be taught in university communications courses. Because I’m going to make sure it is.” The university’s failure for a full fortnight to put up a single scientist to defend Phil Jones amounted to cruelty..."
Yup.
".....The university’s failure for a full fortnight to put up a single scientist to defend Phil Jones amounted to cruelty..."
ReplyDeleteBut you can't defend the indefensible.
If it took them 2 weeks to find someone willing to try to defend the fiddler, then that adds to the circumstantial proof he was a Fraudster.
I teach business communication - in fact I am a recognised expert.
ReplyDeleteAnd I too will teach this episode as an example, only my focus will be on the lies, fraud, and loss of ethical standards by those who assume the mantle of self-righteousness.
Let it be a warning to all that communication should be clear, concise and CORRECT and of course - open. One hopes that the 'angry media insider' remember that; but I doubt it.
